Overhead lines carry high voltage, which rules out boom arms, ladders and drones anywhere near catenary without special procedures. Stations belong to the infrastructure operator and need filming permits with passenger privacy conditions attached; platforms during rush hour are effectively out. Rolling stock appears when the timetable says so — a missed pass may return in an hour or tomorrow. Night possessions, when lines close for maintenance, are the rare windows for track-level shots.

What if the train passes before we are ready?

It will not come back for you. Treat every pass as a single take: cameras rigged early, positions rehearsed, and a second unit covering the alternative angle.
