Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

A non-disclosure agreement fixes what may not be talked about, by whom and for how long.

What this is about

Unreleased products, restructuring announcements and campaign concepts arrive under confidentiality, and the agreement is usually signed long before a crew exists. That is where it fails in practice: the production signs, then twenty freelancers arrive on set with phones. The duty only works when it is passed down in every booking confirmation and repeated on the call sheet. Three points reward close reading — how broadly confidential information is defined, how long the obligation runs after delivery, and whether reference use is carved out for the time after release. Have the wording checked before the first signature.

A term only helps when everyone on set means the same thing by it — so what follows is how it is used, not a dictionary definition.

What runs differently here

Where this differs from the general case:

  • An NDA the crew never saw protects nothing — pass the duty down in every booking confirmation
  • Check the term: obligations running for years after delivery are common and easy to overlook
  • Negotiate a carve-out that allows reference use once the campaign is publicly live

With TillyGen

TillyGen keeps project material in one place per production, so who sees which version stays a deliberate decision.

Change one constraint and the consequences travel through the whole plan: affected shots are flagged, the call sheet is regenerated, and nobody keeps working from yesterday's version.

Frequently asked

Do freelancers have to sign the NDA as well?

Usually yes, or at least accept the duty in their booking confirmation. Most client NDAs require the production to bind everyone it lets near the material; check yours with a lawyer.

How long does it take to get started with TillyGen?

A first project takes under an hour to set up. There is no configuration phase in which templates and fields have to be defined before the tool produces anything.

Can the results be exported?

Yes — as PDF for the crew, CSV for downstream systems and through the API for anything automated. The plan stays the source; the exports are views of it.
