Series production runs to a takt, and the takt does not care about coverage. The shoot has to fit into the line's rhythm, not the other way round.

Series production repeats, but never on cue: the pallet you missed is gone, and the next one arrives when the takt says so. Filming employees at their stations involves the works council early — how people appear, who may decline, what happens with the footage. Safety officers audit the image itself: PPE has to be worn correctly on camera, because the film becomes a reference for how work is done. Between the setups run forklifts with right of way, and around customer parts lie no-photo zones that nobody marks for you on a floor plan. A plan that ignores shift handovers loses its best interview partners at exactly two o'clock.

Do we need works council sign-off to film employees?
Wherever one exists, treat its involvement as mandatory. Agree the ground rules — who is filmed, how, and what happens to the footage — in writing before the shoot day.
Can production pause for a difficult shot?
Assume no. Line stops cost real output and need plant management approval. Plan the difficult shot on a training cell, during planned downtime, or as a multi-camera single pass.
What about scrap parts or defects visible in frame?
They are the first thing internal reviewers look for. Note in the shot list which stations may show work in progress, and let quality assurance screen the rough cut early.
