Data has a duration. A card is not wrapped when the camera stops but when the second verified copy exists, and that clock runs at the speed of the slowest drive in the chain — not at the speed the crew wants to go home.
Every department needs the same plan in a different view. That is exactly where document collections fail: they only ever serve one perspective well.
What runs differently here
In planning terms, that means:
- Copy time scales with codec and frame rate, never with how urgent the wrap is
- Two copies on separate media plus one off-site is the floor before anyone formats a card
- Checksum verification is the step people skip, and the only step that proves the copy

How much storage does a shoot day need?
Take the data rate of the recording format, multiply by the hours the cameras actually roll, then double it for the second copy. The runtime of the finished film has nothing to do with that number.
When is a card safe to format?
When two verified copies exist on separate media and one of them is not travelling in the same case as the other. Verified means checksummed, not glanced at in a file browser.
Who owns the look on set?
The DIT carries the LUT, the DoP owns the look and the grade inherits both. A LUT sent to post without a note explaining what it was for is decoration, not a reference.
How long does it take to get started with TillyGen?
A first project takes under an hour to set up. There is no configuration phase in which templates and fields have to be defined before the tool produces anything.
Can the results be exported?
Yes — as PDF for the crew, CSV for downstream systems and through the API for anything automated. The plan stays the source; the exports are views of it.
