The drone is the only unit on the call sheet that a document can ground. Clearance runs on lead time no production can compress, and the flight window that survives weather and access is usually narrower than the schedule assumes.

Can the flight slot simply move to the afternoon?
Only if wind, sun angle and access allow it. Moving a flight is not moving a setup — it is moving into different weather with the same shot list.
What makes a location impossible to fly?
People who have not been informed, roads and rail that cannot be overflown, restricted airspace, and buildings that leave no safe landing area. All of it is checkable in prep.
